LIMERICK, IRELAND, August 7, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Rinn Pharma & Biopharma, Ireland’s national centre for Research & Innovation in Making Medicines, (formerly SSPC), is pleased to announce its inclusion in the NordicPharmaTrain (NPT) network, marking a significant step forward in expanding collaborative research and training across the Nordic and European innovation landscape.

Hosted at University of Limerick and comprising a further 11 Research Performing Organisations (RPOs), Rinn Pharma & Biopharma is a transdisciplinary research centre that brings academia, industry, and wider stakeholders together to address key challenges in drug development, including the creation of patient-centred medicines for diverse populations and embedding sustainability across all stages of pharmaceutical development and manufacturing.

This new partnership enhances NordicPharmaTrain’s growing network of leading research institutions and industry collaborators. By integrating expertise in advanced manufacturing, crystallisation, digitalisation, and formulation science, Rinn Pharma & Biopharma will contribute to strengthening cross-border collaboration and accelerating scientific progress within the pharmaceutical sector.

As part of this collaboration, Rinn Pharma & Biopharma will host visiting researchers and PhD students, providing access to state-of-the-art laboratories and infrastructure for secondments and hands-on training. These opportunities are designed to support the development of highly skilled researchers while fostering meaningful academic and industry engagement.

Prof. Damien Thompson, Rinn Pharma & Biopharma Director, said:

“By joining NordicPharmaTrain, we are accelerating Ireland’s role in delivering innovative pharmaceutical solutions. This partnership enables us to collaborate internationally on advanced manufacturing, formulation, and digital technologies, areas that are critical to the competitiveness and sustainability of Ireland’s life sciences sector.”

Dr Sarah Hayes, Rinn Pharma & Biopharma COO, added:

“This partnership is mutually beneficial, providing access to a dynamic collaborative ecosystem with expanded opportunities for joint research, shared expertise, and participation in European funding initiatives. It also enhances visibility within the Nordic and wider European research community and broadens access to talented researchers and PhD candidates.”

The partnership promotes researcher mobility and open knowledge-sharing, creating a more connected and innovative research environment. Together, the partners will pursue joint publications, collaborative grant proposals, and long-term research initiatives.

CMAC (UK) and the Department of Health Technology (DTU Health Tech) at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) have also joined the consortium.
